There is a new subscription box on the Canadian market and this one is aimed at kids. Curiosity Box is a monthly box of crafts and activities to make it easy and convenient for parents to engage in creative time with their children. Curiosity Box was founded by a mom who was looking to spend more quality time with her son.

The concept behind Curiosity Box was born of necessity; I was a busy working mom that wanted to spend time with my son who enjoys doing crafts and activities together, but was constantly challenged with finding the time and energy to plan the crafts and…

Ipsy Glam Bag Review - May 2014 - Beauty Subscription Bag

Image
This post contains referral links.

What is it?Ipsy Glam Bag How Much? $10 per month, plus $4.95 shipping to Canada
What’s in it?  4-5 beauty products every month
The May Ipsy bag arrived earlier this week and this time, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't seek out or come across a single spoiler this month.

My Ipsy Points bonus this month is a full size bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Light it Up. In the tube the colour looks nice and I was pumped when I saw it. On my lips, it's orange. Bright tangerine orange. It's bad. I had to blot it down with a ton of tissue to make it even moderately wearable. (value $18 US)

The May theme is "Fresh Picks"  and comes with a super cute canvas makeup pouch.
It's a month of crisp air, vibrant flowers, and fresh Glam Bag products! Getting your beauty to bloom all month long will be as easy as lying in the warm grass and basking in the sunshine. There were 26 different products available this month, with an endles…

What is it?Beauty Box 5 How Much? $12/month, $30/quarter, $99/year
What's in it? 4-5 samples from your favourite beauty brands
It's Beauty Box 5 time again. I'm not sure when the box shipped, but it arrived on May 16th. I think it shipped around the 8th, so it didn't take too long to arrive.

First look
Product card
Harvey Prince Hello Perfume Sample
Perfume samples are usually a miss for me but this one I don't mind. It has scents of lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, forsythia, and plumeria.

Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths (3 cloths,  $0.89)
These are cleansing wipes, but a bit thicker. I used one the other day after bike riding into work and I was really pleased with the results. They left my skin feeling clean and smelling fresh.

H2O+ Aquaibrium Marine Cleansing Gel (8ml, $1.20)
This face wash is made with sea salt and energizing marine botanicals. I've enjoyed the H2O+ products I've tried before so I'm sure thi…

Topbox Review - May 2014 - Beauty Subscription Box

Image
What is it?Topbox
How Much? $12 per month, shipping included
What’s in it?  4 deluxe beauty samples
The May Topbox shipped on May 14th and arrived May 15th. In support of Earth Month, Topbox chose to forego the usual tube package in favour of a simple organza bag.

First look at everything inside the bubble mailer. The package also included an unusual amount of coupons.

This wasn't included on the product card, but technically it could be considered a sample. If you take the card and the empty container to the Lancome counter at The Bay, the clerk will fill it up with a foundation in your shade. I'm headed to the mall later today so might take advantage.

Kinetics Nail Colour in Beautiful Dreamer (full size 15ml, $9)
This isn't a bad colour but I have a couple other polishes in similar shades. This one will be put to another use.

Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes in So Black!  (4ml, $19.38)
This is a great deluxe size sample (the full size is 6.5ml). The card says it will increas…

Earlier this month I introduced you to Bowzer Box, a new subscription box for dogs. Bowzer Box is a Canadian company, based out of Ontario. They generously offered to send me a second box for review.
Bowzer Box caters to all dogs - small, medium, or large. Subscriptions start at $29 per month. You can save per box by pre-paying for a 3 or 6 month subscription. Shipping is an additional $4.50 per month. If you plan to sign up, be sure to check out the FAQ page for shipping schedule, payment terms, and other fun subscription facts.

UrthBox Review - April 2014 - Healthy Snack Subscription Box + PROMO CODE

What is it?UrthBox
How much? Small Box: $29/month, $72/quarterly ($24 per box), $115/semi-annually ($19 per box) plus $6 shipping per box. Medium & large size boxes available as well.
What's in it? Healthy full-size treats meeting your dietary need. Choose from Classic, Vegan, Diet, or Gluten-Free. Small Box includes 7-10 products.
UrthBox is a newer subscription box service, based in California. They offer affordable shipping to Canada at just $6 per box, so when I saw a promo code offering $10 off one box, I signed up. It's good timing too because Snackbox, the Canadian equivalent of this box, recently, and quietly, merged with US based Healthy Surprise. For those that are looking for an alternative to Snackbox, this may be it. Urth Box costs quite a bit less than Healthy Surprise (and even a bit less than Snackbox).

Urth Box offers several different subscription options: Small - starts at $29 per month*. Includes 7-10 snacksMedium - starts…
