April's Glam Bag is themed "Sideshow".
This hawt red-orange bag is clutch for rides on the Ferris wheel, killing it at the arcade, or you know, just being your uniquely awesome self all month long.
I first spotted this month’s Glam Bag theme on ipsy’s Instagram and Instagram Story.

Each month Ipsy sends a sneak peak email where you can view what your products are going to be before they arrive. Here's what my dashboard looked like:
When you login to your ipsy account online or using the app, you can click on your Glam Bag products and then you can select “learn more”. Once inside, ipsy lists some reasons “Why you’ll love it” and at the bottom of each product page, there’s also a “How to use it” section with detailed instructions, tips and photos.

First look

EM Cosmetics Illustrative Eyeliner Brush Tip - Full Size ($15 US)
Whether you’ve been acing a cat eye since freshman year or ready to give it a whirl for the first time, DO NOT WING IT WITHOUT THIS BABY IN HAND. Your flawless flick will thank you. This formula dries crazy fast. The applicator was inspired by a calligraphy pen. Time to get artsy! It was created by our OG muse and co-founder, the fairy godmother of beauty tutorials, Michelle Phan. Do we really need to say more?
I am thrilled to receive this liquid eyeliner - I wear winged, liquid eyeliner daily, so it’s always nice to receive some and try new brands. I also think it’s super cool that it’s from ipsy’s co-founder, Michelle Phan’s, new cosmetics line. Plus side - it’s awesome! Downside - EM Cosmetics doesn’t ship to Canada.

OFRA Cosmetics Rendezvous Blush - Full Size ($15 US)
It’s in it for the long haul! This super long-wearing powder lasts from A.M. to after party. The next-level formula can be used dry (like a traditional blush) or wet for even more pop. We love a good multitasker—this triple threat also works as an eyeshadow and highlighter.
I love blush and wear it daily; it’s always nice to receive as I seem to go through it a lot. However, I find this shade a little dark for my liking. Also, because we received just the pan, I need to find a home for it so it doesn’t get wrecked.

Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter (0.7g, $1.75 US)
This powder is ultra fine which means it’s totally layerable, so you can go for a subtle, daytime gleam or score a glow that can basically be seen from space. Use it literally anywhere. To name just a few spots: along cheekbones, eyelids, down the bridge of your nose, along collar bones, and even down the front of your legs to add sheen and elongate. It’s cruelty free!
I use highlighter just as much as I use blush so I was happy to see this sample in my Glam bag. This colour looks great on my rosy skin tone; I just wish the sample was bigger - it’s superrrr tiny!. I’m also digging the fact that it’s cruelty free!

THEORIE Marula Oil Transforming Hair Serum (0.34oz, $2.60 US)
Marula oil has been popping up in beauty products like crazy, and for good reason. It’s incredibly moisturizing, healing, and nourishing. Hair-wise, it adds shine, softens strands, and even protects from heat styling. It’s sulfate-free and perf for color-treated hair (AKA your balayage is safe).
This is the first I’ve heard of Marula Oil so I’m interested in trying it. It smells great and I’m sure it’ll be nice to my colour-treated hair. A plus, no sulfates!

Hey Honey Bésame Mucho (8ml, $7.46 US)
When a product name translates to “kiss me a lot,” you know it’s going to work wonders for your lips. Heard of propolis? We hadn’t either. It’s an extract from beehives that both hydrates and is antibacterial. This balm has loads of it, plus shea butter. Lips feeling parched? Slather on a super thick coat to turn this into an overnight lip mask.
I haven’t received a lip care item in a while, so this one is welcomed. I’m intrigued by the propolis ingredient, especially because it’s antibacterial and antiseptic. This product leaves your lips feeling smooth and hydrated.

The April ipsy Glam Bag included five products and had a retail value of $41.81 US. This box cost me $20.49 CDN with exchange. Two of the five products are full-sized and the rest are samples, so it's not the best month for value. I’m still pleased with my Glam Bag this month as I love liquid eyeliner, blush and highlighter - and I’ll use the other products as well.

  1. I also got the blush and LOVE IT. I'm not usually a fan of blushes with shimmer but this one has got it going on! I was super pumped about getting the Lisa Frank brush in my bag (#90sthrowback) but I have to admit it's not the best brush I've received from ipsy.
