This box was provided complimentary for review.

What is it? YUMiBOX
How Much? $29.99 per month, including shipping and tax. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What's in it? A bag of YUMiGrains mix, a bag of YUMiOats mix, and 2 unique YUMiRecipes (16 servings total)

YUMiBOX is a Canadian subscription that sends healthy grain and oat mixes. With YUMiBOX you get more flavour and less sugar! According to the co-founder Zoey, "YUMiBOX was created to bring back whole grains and to inspire healthy carbohydrate choices for overall health, as well as blood sugar management". Zoey says that eating healthy carbohydrates is difficult for most people, and that whole grains have been forgotten (or demonized - we all know about the low-carb diet craze!). YUMiBOX mixes are created by a team of nutritionists and dietitians to help people with heart health, weight management, and blood sugar control.

Each month the box will include a bag of whole grain mix, a bag of breakfast oatmeal mix, and two recipe cards. Both mixes offer at 8 individually packaged servings, which helps with portion control. The savoury grain mix is a healthy alternative to rice or pasta, and cooks within 20 minutes. The oat mix is a low-sugar breakfast oatmeal that can be prepared in just a few minutes. The mix flavours change each month.

YUMiBOX ships on the 15th of each month. You can skip or cancel any time from your account page.

First look!

Each resealable bag includes 8 individually portioned packets. I really like this feature!

Red Velvet Breakfast Oatmeal Mix (352 grams)
This mix contains oats, freeze dried strawberry & raspberry, freeze dried beet powder, coconut, hemp seeds, and sugar-free chocolate bits. The included recipe is for Red Velvet Overnight Oats. Instead of oats, this can also be used in a smoothie bowl, sprinkled over yogurt, or as a cereal.

Wild Buffalo Savoury Whole Grains Mix (552 grams)
The savoury mix contains brown basmati rice, red lentils, quinoa, dark bulgar, kaniwa, chili powder, paprika, cayenne, mustard seed, garlic, onion, apple cider vinegar powder, and salt. The recipe is for Buffalo Grains Lettuce Wraps. The grains cook up very easily - simply boil a packet with 1 cup of water and simmer for 20-25 minutes. I like to add these mixes to burritos, but they also work just as well as a side dish.

This box included nearly a full pound of healthy grains. There's enough here for 16 servings, or more if you prefer even smaller portions. YumiBox is an easy way to get healthy grains and more variety into your diet. With new flavours and recipes every month, you will never get bored of your food.
