Simply Beautiful by BC Living Review - Spring 2017 - Canadian Lifestyle Subscription Box

Canadian Box Addict paid for this box.

What is it? Simply Beautiful by BCLiving
How much? $88/quarter, plus tax. Shipping included. Prices in Canadian dollars.
What's in it? 6 to 8 curated products delivered to your door for the body, home and soul

I have a brand new box to share today and I'm pretty excited about it! I discovered this box via Instgram and signed up right away. Simply Beautiful is by the editors of BCLiving, an online lifestyle guide offering insider information and tips about life on BC's west coast. Simply Beautiful was launched as a way for the Editors at BCLiving to share their favourite products and best local finds. Each season, Simply Beautiful sends a curated box of 6-8 products for body, home, and soul. Expect to see the best beauty finds, must-have style pieces, trendy home décor, and other items to inspire your most beautiful life. The retail value of each box will be $150 to $200!

While Simply Beautiful is a quarterly box and ships every 3 months, they offer two billing options. Subscribers can choose to pay monthly instalments to break up the cost, or pay the full price quarterly. The monthly instalment price is $36, so it ends up being $20 more expensive than paying quarterly, which is odd to me. Be sure to choose to pay every 3 months!

The inaugural box shipped at the end of April. I signed up May 11th and wasn't sure if I would get the Spring box, or would have to wait until Summer. I e-mailed Janine, the Editor of BCLiving and she got back to me right away. She then followed up on May 15th, letting me know that my box would go out that afternoon. It arrived to me 24 hours later via Canada Post!

This box contains some of BCLiving's favourite brands and products. There's beauty items that "really work", "super on-trend" decor pieces and other treats!

Simply Beautiful Moscow Mule Mugs ($40)
BCLiving says this is one of the hottest decor items this season. These mugs are hammered copper colour stainless steel. The metal keeps cocktails super chilled. I've been wanting to get a set of these for a while. They are perfect for patio season.

Roger & Gallet Rose Hand & Nail Cream ($10)
This shea butter enriched hand and nail cream is from a French brand, and available at Hundson's Bay. It's the perfect size for the purse.

Simply Beautiful Wick Trimmer ($20)
This is one of those things that everyone who burns candles could use, and probably doesn't have. The card says that keeping wicks trimmed to 1/8 of an inch helps candles burn longer and cleaner.  I had no idea!

Nadia Albano Cheek Enhancer Brush ($18)
Nadia is a Vancouver-based professional makeup artist. This is an angled brush for applying blush or contouring the cheeks. It's a nice quality brush.

Saje Natural Wellness Headache Relief Kit ($36.95)
Saje was founded in BC in 1992! They create therapeutic essential oil blends to help people feel better, naturally.

This Headache Relief Kit contains three products to help relieve a nagging headache and clear your mind. This will be great for my mother. She's allergic to acetaminophen and ibuprofen so she can't take traditional medicine for headache relief. For some people, essential oils are the only answer.

The kit includes Stress Release Tension Reducing Mist (travel size, 30ml), Peppermint Halo Headache Remedy (travel size, 6ml), and Peppermint Halo Wand (full size, 12ml).

LACC Nail Polish in 1973 ($12.99)
LACC is based in Vancouver, and manufactured in New York. The polishes are 10-free, salon quality, and socially responsible. This shade, 1973, is called a grape purple crème. I find it a bit too dark for a spring shade.

withinUs TruMarine Collagen ($15)
Adding collagen to your daily routine can help you look younger and feel better. This product provides the highest quality of collagen, extracted from fish scales sourced from the deep, clean waters of the South Pacific (beware: not vegan friendly). Stir it into a beverage of your choice and drink up. withinUS is based in Vancouver!

The Spring 2017 Simply Beautiful by BC Living contained  seven products, valued at $153 Canadian! With GST and PST, this box cost me $98.56. I really enjoyed this box of quality products, many of them from BC based companies! I'd never heard of LACC or withinUs before now. The Moscow Mule mugs and Saje Headache Kit are my favourite items. I look forward to seeing what the Editors at BC Living put together next season! The Spring box is now sold out, but you can still sign up to get your name on the list for the Summer box. The next box ships in July.
