What is it? The Zoe Report Box of Style
How Much? $100/quarter, plus $15 shipping to Canada. Prices in US dollars. Canadian import tax/duty may be an extra cost, charged as a COD.
What’s in it? Fashion & beauty picks from celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe valued over $350

Box of Style is a luxurious seasonal subscription curated by The Zoe Report Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Zoe, and her team. Each season, get a surprise delivery of stylish fashion, beauty, and lifestyle finds valued over $350. Items come from established designers, niche brands, and exclusively-designed collaborations. Each box contains one "Hero Item", which makes up the bulk of the value, plus a selection of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products. With Rachel's unparalleled sense of glamour and expert styling, Box of Style keeps you looking and feeling chic all year round!

Fall boxes started shipping in mid-September. This is the first season I haven't had to pay additional COD fees on delivery. Usually it's around $25 for tax and duty. The cost varies depending on box value and your location, and occasionally, like this season, there's no charges at all!

The Fall box is all about multitaskers. TZR team curated several items that do double-duty, to take you from desk to dinner and everywhere in between.

Box of Style is packaged like a fantastic gift. Every item is wrapped in tissue, so unboxing feels like Christmas or a birthday.

Rachel Convertible Clutch from GiGi New York ($195)
Our exclusive collaboration for the season, this luxury carryall converts from a computer case by day to a chic clutch come night. From an unexpected navy hue to a detachable strap and quality textured leather, it will become your favorite fall companion.
This is the Hero Item for Fall, and it's a good one! This leather fold-over clutch has embossed python print on one side and a pebble grain finish on the other. There's a detachable strap so it can be a clutch, a cross-body, or just a regular purse.

When open, it's just over 13 inches by 10.5 inches, so it can also be used as a laptop or tablet sleeve (up to 13" laptop).

I'm a huge fan of cross-body styles and currently wear a black leather Coach bag (similar to this one). I haven't used this bag yet, but I'm already in love. The style, the size, the shape, the colour... it's all perfect. It will be a nice change to my basic black purse.

The embossing is really well done. The bag also has the "new leather" smell.

La Soula Two-Diamond Ring Set ($176)
A little luxury goes a long way, and these stackable baubles prove it. The choice item in the fall box, they deliver delicate diamonds on 14K Gold Plated Brass rings, available in the yellow option.

This set of rings was available in yellow, white, or rose gold. The rings are 14k gold plated brass and each has a tiny diamond chip embedded in the tips of the ball ends. The rings are size 6 but they can be pulled apart to fit a bit larger. I'm size 7 and they fit okay.

You can wear them a few different ways. This is with one classic style and one "middy" style.

... or wear them both classic stacked. You could also wear one each on different fingers. Lots of possibilities here. White and rose gold are sold out, so if you subscribe today, you will receive yellow gold, like mine.

ODEME Gold Catchall Try ($45)
Overhaul clutter and make a modern statement via this metallic tray. Whether placed atop your work desk, coffee table, or vanity, it will effortlessly elevate your space.

This gold catchall tray is about 5 inches x 7 inches and made of porcelain with metallic gold finish.

Use it to hold jewellery on your nightstand or bathroom vanity or...

... use it to hold candles and other decor items. I placed it on my mantle to hold my Pinch candle. BOS also suggests using it to hold keys on an entryway table or place it on your desk to hold pens and other small items.

Oribe Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream ($54)
If you spent too much time in the sun and pool, Oribe's Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream is here to rescue your summer-loved strands. Imbued with a heavenly scent, massage a small amount of this leave-in conditioner post-shower, or midday, for a silky treatment.
I like the idea of using this mid-day to freshen up your 'do. BOS also says it can help keep flyaways at bay.

Skinesque 3-Step Brightening + Charcoal Mask (5, $35)
Call in a weekend staycation, or fake a spa visit, with Skinesque's multi-tasking mask. Paraben-free and dermatologist approved, it will brighten up your visage with skin-loving ingredients from green tea to bamboo and charcoal.
This set is fabulous for travel or on-the-go. Each pack contains a foaming cleanser, a serum-like hydrator, and a mask. Stash one in your gym bag or take them for a weekend getaway.

Nudestix Pulse Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm in Pulse ($24)
Vegan and cruelty free, NUDESTIX gives you a natural way to get gorgeous. Their two-in-one crayon is moisturizing and vitamin-enriched -- the perfect pick-me-up to give your lips and cheeks a pinch of color at a moment's notice.
This is another great multitasking item. The pencil can be used on cheeks or lips and the colour is buildable. The case has a mirror on the inside of the lid and holds a sharpener. The colour is lovely.

The Zoe Report Box of Style Fall Edition included six items, valued at $528 US! I think this is my most favourite Box of Style yet. The purse is the "piece de resistance" for me. The rest of the items are the icing on the cake. The Zoe Report team did a great job curating high-end multi-tasking products that can do double and sometimes triple duty. The bulk of the value is in the clutch and rings, so if either of these items appeal to you, the box is worth the cost. It's $115 US, including shipping to Canada, which works out to about $144 CDN with today's exchange rate. Also keep in mind, you may have to pay additional tax/duty on delivery.

Interested in the Fall Box of Style? It's still available for purchase! Even better, there are a few promo codes available:
  • $10 off your seasonal subscription using code BOSFALL10
  • $20 off your annual subscription using code BOS20
  • Free Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder using code TATCHA ($65 value, while supplies last)
Only one code per order. Valid for new subscribers only. Once the Fall box is sold out, the next box is Winter, which starts shipping in mid-December.

  1. I didn't have to pay duty for my summer box, but I got dinged with $41 duty for this fall box :( Why is it some people have to pay some don't and the amount of duty charged is different for different people living within the same province?

    1. There isn't actually any duty charged. It's taxes plus a service fee to the government. The tax depends on the value CBSA has assessed on the package and your location. See Nikki's comment below for a more in depth explanation.

  2. This is how Canadian Customs works. First, it is random. Totally random; they can't slow down the mail to the point where every package is held at customs for the following process. Next, if your package is selected they take the "value" and convert it to CAD$ using the highest rate they can get away with. Next, the whole purpose for this, they charge you tax. So if you live in AB you are charged GST, ON and Maritime (etc) provinces HST, and if there are any provinces left that separate PST and GST that's your charge. Now comes the crowning glory: you are then charged a $9.99 service charge for the privilege of being charged tax. So you can be charged anywhere from nothing to a whole lot, depending on cost of package, where you live and the randomness of life! Hope this helps!

    1. Oh, one more thing. They usually leave the package alone if the conversion rate equals less than $100CAD, but that is also random. Depends on the person working.

    2. Thank you for the great explanation!
